The Race Card

October 14, 2008 1 comment

I haven’t written a blog post in a while due to lack of inspiration. I did post 2 new articles that deal with my usual content, “Entertainment”. Yes, I tend to bash celebrities becuase I just don’t get why they act like assholes when they are so lucky to be in the position they are financially. Anyway, I digress.

I keep hearing how Barack Obama is leading John McCain in all these polls that are being done by the media. These polls really don’t mean shit!! I think that this election is going to come down to RACE. We still live in a society where race plays a big factor in everyday life, it’s unfortunate, but true.

For example…..

– If you were to see a man wearing a turban getting on an airplane, the usual reaction or thought is, “he must be a terrorist”.

– If you see a couple walking in a mall and the man is African American and the woman is Caucasian, the initial reaction is still shock, because of the “Jungle Fever” factor.

– If you see an Asian person, people automatically assume that he must know Karate or owns a Chinese food restaurant

– Contrary to popular belief, hispanic people don’t all live in one house

– All African American men do not play Basketball

Do you see what I’m getting at? No matter how open minded you are, there is still a race factor playing out in your life, like it or not and it will play a huge roll in this election.

I sincerely hope that Barack Obama wins the election, simply because I feel he is the better candidate of the 2. Is he the best person for the job?….NO. I still believe that Hillary Clinton should be in that position. However, that is just not the case. So based on the 2 candidates we have, I choose Obama.

For the people who say they will vote for Obama, don’t change your vote becuase of the color of his skin. If you feel he is the better candidate, then that should be your reason to vote for Obama.

Here’s a final thought. If we were all blind, the only thing that separates us as a people is our intelligence.

Where Is Eminem When You Need Him?

Arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time, Eminem has always been one to cause controversy. His style is crazy but catchy. His rhymes are entrancing. For me it was hard to just listen to the beat of any of his songs because I was so amazed by his lyrics. The man may be white, but he is a great rapper.

I’m writing this post because during the last election, Eminem made a song called “Mosh” which was amazing. He made some of the most incredible digs at the Bush Administration and the government in general.

I hope he comes back and does something for this election. It would really help the younger base of voters who can vote but probably aren’t interested enough to vote.

But mostly I hope he goes after Sarah Palin……She truly is more dangerous than George Bush

Obama’s Big Mistake…Maybe?

I dig Barack Obama. I can honestly say that I have no doubt in my mind who I am voting for in this year’s election. It will be Barack Obama. However, Senator Obama’s ego may just lose him the election. I don’t know much about Joe Biden and not much about Sarah Palin, what I do know is that the Republican’s are riding Sarah Palin’s coat tails at this time and it’s hurting Obama’s chances.

If Obama had picked Hillary Clinton as his VP, this election would be a wrap. PERIOD! McCain would just be running for show and he would have never chosen Sarah Palin as his VP running mate. Even if McCain did choose Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton would have wiped the floor with her. Hillary Clinton is a very intelligent and experienced woman and she has one of the best political minds on her side…her husband, Bill.

If the time ever came where Palin and Clinton debated, it would be a sad day for Palin. She knows that she would have been done for.

Ultimately, Obama’s ego and not choosing Clinton as his running mate may just cause him this election. I sincerely hope it does not. I believe that McCain and Palin will be so bad for America. McCain would be a good president for the War, but the economy. Palin would be a good VP for energy, but not the middle class. There are just too many variables that would be left to chance with a McCain/Palin administration and the fact that the McCain camp is sheltering Palin from the media really scares me because we know very little about her and how she thinks.

The upcoming debates will make choices much easier for many voters. I am eagerly waiting for them, especaially the Palin/Biden debate. I also believe that overall, Obama will pull ahead after the debates. People are hurting financially now and when Alan Greenspan says that Obama’s Plan is better than McCain’s, we really should listen. When analysts say that Obama’s plan will provide tax breaks to the middle class and only raise taxes for the wealthy, we really should listen. The wealthy are the people who make more than $250K per year.

It’s about time that the middle class gets a break!
